The Using of Media in Teaching and Learning English

The 2nd meeting in DLL Class we discuss about The Using of Media in Teaching and Learning English. With using the media in the learning process is expected to facilitate and improve the efficiency of the learning process.

The example of the media is such as print, audio, visual, digital, etc.

• The print media is a way to produce or deliver material through the process of printing mechanically or fotografis. The example of the print media is like book, worksheets, and so on.

• The visual media is the media that can only be seen, such as: photo, images, the posters up, the cartoon, graphing dll.

• The audio media is the media that can only be heard, such as: audio tapes, mp3, the radio. The Advantages of using audio in the learning are Increased Retention.  We can play the audio recordings repeatedly wherever the location may be, there is an increased possibility of improved retention in the memory bank. Meanwhile the disadvantages is 

• Meanwhile, the digital media is a media that encoded in the format of that can be read by the readable-machine

Every aspect has each advantages and disadvantages. We can combine to obtain optimum results.
